PayPerPost Credit Cards

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Many of you may be familiar with payperpost which pays bloggers to post articles with links on their blogs. They also pay to have people post videos talking about their product.

This video is a payperpost made for a credit card consolidation company and you will see that the person who made the video doesn’t handle her credit cards too well. While I’m tempted to comment on the whole credit card consolidation issue of trading credit card debt for home equity, a bigger worry is that she has set herself up for identity theft. There are a couple of frames where it may be possible to decipher her credit card number as she is flashing it on the video. Not a smart move at all…view for yourself

Complete Credit Card Destruction

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

If you have ever been in credit card debt and that magical day comes when all the debt has been paid off, using scissors to cut up the credit cards can be a little anti-climatic. You don’t want to leave those cards in little pieces, you want them decimated into a pile of plastic shreds. If that is your feeling, you’ll love this video:

Now that is what I call satisfying destruction of credit cards and identity theft safe to boot!

While you probably think that it will never happen to you, that is exactly what the people stealing this information hope…for those that are looking for easy ways to secure their home wireless, this article may help

If It Sounds To Good To be True

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

When it comes to personal finances and money, the saying “if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is” should always be in the back of your mind. That still doesn’t keep people for falling for scams as this British show reveals when it sets up a computer scam:

To help avoid falling for a similar scam, the video’s advice that you should always get a receipt (with the stores contact information) that details the work to be done is sound. I would also include:

  • If the advertisement was found on a flyer or in a free newspaper rather than a paid advertisement in a mainstream media outlet, you should be extra careful and go in assuming it’s a scam (and make them prove it otherwise).
  • A quick Internet search for the company in your areas Better Business Bureau can help confirm they are legit. If the BBB doesn’t know about the company, start raising those red flags.
  • And if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is….
  • Reasons Not To Buy Bottled Water

    Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

This video highlights how many of us have unconsciously accepted what the advertisers say about bottled water to the point that many people now assume that bottled water is better than tap water. The reality is that most people can’t tell the difference.

Warning: This video contains adult language. If you are willing to ignore this, however, it gives some good information on why bottled water is such a rip-off including taste tests where people couldn’t taste the difference:
